The implementation of a dynamic management system for the lanes must be
based on a set of sensors, displays and activators placed in strategic places: on the
lane (sensors as well as displays and activators), with the active users involved, and
therefore requestors (bus drivers, ambulances, firemen, possibly trucks), passive
users “subjected to” the imposed modifications (displays only) and external - traffic
regulators, as indicated in Figure 6.13.

6.10.1. System perspective
All the elements, the appropriate functions of which are to be identified, as well
as the technologies which can bring them about, must be integrated within the
global system, collecting, aggregating, processing and diffusing the appropriate
information to all users. It is this system which will be able to be simulated first,
with the appropriate simplifications which need to be chosen. It is the one that gives
the base for the implementation of the digital simulator. The diagram of Figure 6.14
presents the main elements of the system which are to be deployed.
This system perspective (Figure 6.14) brings into play the main elements which
are:
- the sensors in the lane concerned by the collection of information regarding the
state of the traffic and priority requests;
- the vehicles of users who request priority and who receive information
regarding the state of the lanes (allocation of lanes, authorized or not dynamic
priority requests) for on-board display;
