Camera focus, movement, and lighting controls are crucial to virtual world photographers and machinima
makers. A well-designed HUD for that purpose aggregates all the menus that control cameras and lighting in
the viewer into one HUD for the photo shoot. This saves time for the photographer and gives much more control
over the quality and content of the work. The Firestorm Viewer offers a Phototools menu in lieu of this HUD.

As your avatar travels and teleports around the virtual worlds, you will collect landmarks from various locations
that you may want to revisit. The capacity to store and retrieve them is often put into a HUD. This could be com-
bined with a visible radar or virtual map access to give you a complete picture of who is around you on a sim.

HUDs play a signiicant part of vehicular design in virtual worlds. Just as in a real airplane or watercraft,
