Using the Grid
Given the amount of website and application layouts that developers usually do in Photoshop, the grid is
an extremely useful and helpful tool. In this part of the lesson, you will discover how to set up your gird
preferences and adjust content to align to the grid.
1 Choose Edit > Preferences > Guides, Grids and Slices (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences >
Guides, Grid and Slices (Mac OS). The Preferences dialog box appears. Here you can change the col-
ors of the guides and grid. Slices are used when creating HTML or CSS tables and you can change the
color of those items in this dialog box as well. In this section, you will focus only on the grid.
2 Select the Grid Color drop-down menu, and choose Custom.
3 When the Color Picker appears, choose a dark grey color. Our example uses R: 120 , G: 120 , B: 120 .
Click OK to close the Color Picker.
