Add a mask to the banner group.
6 Select the Gradient tool ( ) from the Tools panel and press D . This restores the foreground and back-
ground colors to their defaults (black and white).
7 Click the Gradient Picker in the Options bar and make sure you have the Foreground to Background
gradient selected.
Make sure that the Foreground to Background gradient is selected.
8 Using the Gradient tool, click and drag from the letter y in the word healthy to the right side of the im-
age. Press and hold the Shift key while dragging to constrain the Gradient tool to a straight line.
Click and drag with the Gradient tool across the image area.
A gradient has been added to the mask.
By creating a mask for the group and applying a gradient to it, you have created a gradient mask that
fades the banner layers to 0 percent opacity.
9 Choose File > Save for Web. When the Save for Web window appears, choose PNG-24 from the Pre-
set drop-down menu. PNG-24 supports varying levels of transparency in the image.
