Figure 3.12
Editing a
bookmark
To remove a bookmark, tap the red icon to the left of its name,
which displays a Delete button to the right. Tap that Delete button
to remove the bookmark. (This two-step process is designed to
avoid accidentally deleting bookmarks.)
A faster method of deleting bookmarks (and many other things on the
iPad, such as Mail messages), is to simply swipe left-to-right across the
item's name to bring up the Delete button.
5.
Tap the Done button to exit the editing mode.
note iTunes can synchronize bookmarks with the Mac or Windows version
of Safari and with Internet Explorer 8 or later under Windows. I prefer
this option not only because I keep the same bookmarks on both devices, but
because it's easier to edit several bookmarks on the computer than on the iPad.
See Chapter 10 for more information on syncing.
The app Handoff (handoffapp.com) does something cool: If you're
viewing a Web page on your computer, send it to your iPad using a
button that appears in the browser's toolbar. When you launch Handoff on the
iPad, the page can be loaded, read within the Handoff app, or opened in Safari.
