Case study
'Typically the productivity potential of eTendering technology is in the
range of 25-50 per cent, depending on the depth of automation function-
ality utilised by the user. However, the ODA was particularly successful
at embedding the use of templates and automation and achieved towards
the top end of the range. This significant productivity improvement in
effect represented an additional resource pool available to focus on key
strategic and tactical objectives.
Between February 2007 and April 2011, the ODA had undertaken more
than 580 tender projects involving more than 21,000 suppliers, including
about 150 PQQs and about 700 ITTs. This is estimated to have led to:
- productivity savings of more than £5m;
- postage and print savings of more than £350k;
- significant environmental benefits;
- a massive reduction in project cycle time, leading to objectives being
delivered faster.'
