The best way to avoid standing in lines is to visit the water parks when they're
less crowded. We recommend going on a Saturday or Sunday, when most visitors are
traveling, or on a Monday. While Disney once offered morning and evening Extra
Magic Hours at its water parks, it's been a couple of years since we last saw them on
the operating schedule. It's Disney's prerogative to change its mind, however, espe-
cially during summer, so check the operating schedules a couple of days before you
plan to go.

Just like at the major theme parks, the key to a successful visit to the water parks
is to arrive early. If you are going to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, get up early,
have breakfast, and arrive at the park 30 minutes before opening. Wear your bathing
suit under shorts and a T-shirt so you don't need to use lockers or dressing rooms.

cover. If you or your children have tender feet, wear protective footwear that can be
worn in and out of the water as you move around the park. Shops in the parks sell
sandals and waterproof shoes.

tainer. Though nowhere is completely safe, we felt comfortable hiding our plastic
money bags in our cooler. Nobody disturbed our stuff, and our cash was easy to
reach.However,ifyou'recarryingawadorworryaboutmoneyanyway,rentalocker.
Another great device is a waterproof card case with a lanyard to hold park tickets, a
credit card, some cash, and your hotel key. You can buy them at the water parks for
