In-Depth Information
It's generally a bad idea to make advance FastPass+ reservations for any of the
evening parades or fireworks, because you won't be able to get any more reservations
while you're in the park. We suggest checking around 4 p.m. to see if any reserva-
tions are available for the fireworks and parades. If they are and you're done with the
headliner attractions, go ahead and grab a FastPass+.
RULE #2: FastPass+ reservation times can't overlap —Disney's computer system
doesn't allow it. If you've got a FastPass+ reservation for 2-3 p.m., you can't make
another reservation later than 1 p.m. or earlier than 3 p.m. in the same park.
FASTPASS+ TIERS Disney also prohibits guests from using FastPass+ on all of a park's
headliner attractions. The practice, known informally as “FastPass+ tiers,” was in ef-
fect only at Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios at press time. At Epcot, by way
of example, the FastPass+ attractions are divided into the following two tiers:
TIER A : CHOOSE 1
TIER B : CHOOSE 2
IllumiNations
Captain EO
• Living with the Land
• Epcot Character Spot
• Soarin'
• Journey into Imagination
• Test Track
• Maelstrom
• Mission: SPACE (Green or Orange)
• Spaceship Earth
• The Seas with Nemo & Friends
Turtle Talk with Crush
FastPass+ lets you choose only one attraction from Tier A and two attractions
from Tier B. Note that Tier A comprises the attractions with the longest lines: This
ensures that most guests get to choose either Soarin' or Test Track. Also, note that
few of the attractions in Tier B actually require FastPass+ for most of the year.
The system upsets quite a few guests, such as this Baltimore reader:
We were at Epcot on the last day of the traditional FastPass system, and we were
able to ride Test Track once with a short line and then later use FastPass for it and
Soarin'. The next day, we discovered you had to pick either Soarin' OR Test Track.
As for the other Tier A attractions … Maelstrom on the same level as Test Track and
Soarin? Give me a break!
