In-Depth Information
Again, though, the tiers don't apply beyond your first three advance FastPass+
reservations—any reservations you make beyond the first three when you're in the
parks are totally up to you.
Clearly, the FastPass+ rules are designed to do three things: encourage you to
stay at a Disney resort, book your trip well in advance, and tell Disney exactly where
you plan to be every day. These three things increase Disney's revenue. They also de-
crease Disney's operating expenses, because Disney can adjust its staffing levels at
each park based on how many people have made FastPass+ reservations. More im-
portantly, by promising lower wait times in advance, Disney encourages you to spend
more time at its parks and discourage you from last-minute trips to Universal or other
parks.
How FastPass+ Affects Your Waits in Line
At press time, there were only 11 Disney World attractions throughout the parks at
which FastPass+ was having a noticeable effect on standby lines. Standby wait times
are down significantly at the following four attractions:
• Winnie the Pooh (-11 minutes)
• Tower of Terror (-7)
• Space Mountain (-11 minutes)
• Expedition Everest (-6)
Wait times are up at these seven attractions:
• DINOSAUR (+12 minutes)
• Primeval Whirl (+7)
• The Haunted Mansion (+6)
• Kilimanjaro Safaris (+5)
• Pirates of the Caribbean (+10)
• Jungle Cruise (+7)
• Spaceship Earth (+5)
