Educational Curriculum, Management and Assessment Measures
Curriculum, management and assessment measures provide the reader with a
sense of how the teacher teaches. They help to define the teacher and offer
insight into the teacher's classroom.
Curriculum and Management
Curriculum and management examples are lesson plans, units, courses, syllabi,
behavioral plans and management strategies. Teachers often demonstrate how
they align curriculum with learning standards or implement current research-
based teaching methods. Teachers may include management techniques and
strategies as well.
Assessment Measures
Assessment measures help to indicate how students learn and progress. By
including rubrics, a teacher demonstrates expectations for student learning as
well as how he/she evaluates students. Student portfolios, anecdotal observa-
tions, teacher-created evaluations, informal and formal assessments, test
scores, statistics and progress reports can be included as well.
Links for Educators, Parents and Students
Since a primary purpose for the teacher Web portfolio is to disseminate
information to a mass audience, a teacher will often include links for educators,
parents and students. These links may connect to professional Web sites,
articles and other resources to which the intended audience may find useful.
Interactive Features and Visual Layouts
Interactive features and visual layout provides the teacher with avenues and
opportunities to capture and maintain the viewer's interest and attention while
helping to persuade the intended audience group(s).
