In-Depth Information
• Holidays Around the World in Epcot begins on Friday, November 28. Disney
brings in storytellers to tell holiday stories and explain unique traditions in many
of the World Showcase countries. Santa Claus meets in the U.S. Pavilion. In addi-
tion, the Candlelight Processional is an amazing stage show featuring the voices of
famous celebrities, a large choir, and a 50-piece orchestra. The show, which tells
the story of Christmas, is put on three times throughout the night (5pm, 6:45pm,
and 8pm) and lasts about 40 minutes. Illuminations, the nightly fireworks and laser
show, also includes several holiday-only effects that you won't want to miss. Hol-
idays Around the World will increase crowds to the World Showcase in the even-
ing, especially on the weekends.
• At Hollywood Studios, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights may or
may not return to the Streets of America in 2015, with the uncertainty coming from
expected construction. If it does return, it features over 5 million lights carefully
set up throughout the Streets of America. The lights are up every evening (unless
a private event closes Hollywood Studios early) and don't affect day-time crowds.
A lighting ceremony occurs nightly around 6pm. The best time to view the Lights
is from about 15 minutes before the Studios closes through 60 minutes after the
Studios officially “closes” because the lights continue to dance.
BEST TIME TO VISIT November 9-20 is the best time to visit with the lowest crowds of the
month and low resort pricing. You'll have plenty of opportunities to see the Magic King-
dom Castle Lighting and have an opportunity to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas
Party. Consider a visit over the first week in November if you'd prefer to attend the Food
and Wine Festival.
December
COST Fall season continues with prices slightly below average through December 10, 2015.
Peak season, with well-above-average pricing, begins the 11th at the Values and Moder-
ates and continues through the 17th, followed by the most expensive Holiday pricing of the
year. At the Deluxes, prices switch from Fall to Regular season 12/11, Regular to Peak 12/
18, and Peak to Holiday 12/25.
WEATHER Expect erratic temperatures throughout December. It is not uncommon for one
day to be in the low 60s and the next day to be in the high 70s. Nonetheless, the average
high is 72 and the average low is 53 degrees, making most afternoons comfortable and most
evenings a little chilly. Precipitation remains low with a 22% chance.
CROWDS Crowds are slightly below average to average through December 17. Beginning
December 18, some of the heaviest crowds of the year arrive, with the highest crowds of
the year from December 25-31.
REFURBISHMENTS Expect a few minor attraction closures for brief stints.
SPECIAL EVENTS THAT MAY AFFECT CROWDS OR YOUR STAY:
The ABC Christmas Day Parade taping is likely to be scheduled for December
4 and 5. Most of Main Street will be closed off December 5. Expect additional
delays in Frontierland and Liberty Square as the floats are moved to Main Street,
on top of incredibly heavy crowds due to the fact it's a Saturday with long hours
