). Inflammatory CD4
+
cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) kill cells infected by viruses, bacteria, or
protozoans, allograft, and tumor cells. They have cytoplasmic granules that contain
perforin and granzymes [

]. Regulatory T lymphocytes dampen excessive inflam-
mation. Helper T cells enhance the production of antibodies by B lymphocytes.
