Rate Classifications and Delivery Time for International Mail
These rates and delivery times apply to international mail. (The services and their require-
ments listed below are current at the time of publication. Check with a postal agent or
the USPS website at
www.usps.com
for updates.)
Global Express Guaranteed:
guaranteed
delivery within two to three days to more
than 200 countries. Pricing is calculated
on weight and distance. Signature, proof
of delivery, and tracking are available.
Global Priority Mail:
economical option
offers delivery within four to six days to
51 countries. Limited to envelopes and
packages weighing up to 4 lb. (1.8144 kg).
Global Express Mail:
Delivery within three
to five days to more than 190 countries.
Return receipt and tracking are available.
The USPS also offers a range of services that can be added on at an additional cost to
the basic cost of mailing a letter or package:
COD (Collect on Delivery):
Allows the post-
al service to collect the postage and price
of an item from the recipient and give it
to the mailer. The addressee must order
the goods.
Insured Mail:
Provides coverage against
loss or damage up to $5,000 (£2,500).
Return Receipt:
Provides a postcard with
the date of delivery and recipient sig-
nature. Must be combined with another
extra service. Return receipt for merchan-
dise service is also available.
Certified Mail:
Provides proof of mailing
at time of mailing and the date and time
of delivery or attempted delivery. Return
receipt can be added to confirm delivery.
Certificate of Mailing:
Provides evidence
of mailing.
Delivery Confirmation:
Provides the date
and time of delivery or attempted delivery.
Return Receipt for Merchandise:
Provides
a postcard with the date of delivery and
recipient signature. Must be combined
with another extra service.
Signature Confirmation:
Provides the date
and time of delivery or attempted delivery.
Registered Mail:
Provides maximum secu-
rity. Includes proof of mailing at time of
mailing and the date and time of delivery
or attempted delivery. Insurance up to
$25,000 (£12,500) can be added. Return
receipt can be added to confirm delivery.
