After positioning the clip at the start of the timeline, move the green cursor to the right.
At position 0.00, you will see a thin vertical black line, which is the marker for position 0.00
(Figure 20.7). Dragging the green cursor allows you to scrub through your video clip, which
you will observe in the preview window. With your normal cursor in the preview window,
pressing Alt + the A key plays the clip. The graduations across the bottom of the video se-
quence editor are seconds.
In the timeline window at the bottom of the screen, change the “End” value to 120, and
you will see another thin black line move in from the RHS of the window and locate at po-
sition 5.00 seconds (Figure 20.8). This line will represent the end of the render in the final
movie output. Remember that in the render setup in the properties window, the frame rate
for the animation was 24 frames per second; 120 frames played at 24 frames per second
equals 5 seconds.
Place the cursor in the video sequence editor window and zoom in with the number pad
+ sign. Click on the time graduation bar and drag it to the right to move the editor window
to the left. Click “Add” again and select your second video clip; the second clip is placed on
the same line as the first clip (these lines are called channels). At the RHS of the window,
there's an “Edit Strip” tab; change the channel number from 1 to 2 and you should see your
