In-Depth Information
Notice the audio-specific metadata that has been automatically mapped into Final
Cut Server from the information in the audio file. This functionality is available only
with the proper metadata set (Audio).
NOTE To get the Apple Loops Plus metadata information, it's not necessary to use
the Audio metadata set (although it's the simplest and only built-in way to use that
metadata). You can create your own custom metadata sets and add the Apple Loops
Plus metadata group to them, and then your audio metadata will be automatically
accessible.
ADMIN
Discovering Graphic Assets Using Scans
Now that you've learned how to add your video and audio assets to Final Cut Server,
you'll apply that knowledge to discovering graphic assets. Just like audio and video assets,
graphic assets also have their own metadata set: Graphic. By utilizing separate scans, you
can specify that your graphic assets get the Graphic metadata set applied, so that the rel-
evant metadata fields will be present.
Final Cut Server can work with most common graphical file types, including RAW, TIFF,
Ta r g a , b i t m a p ( B M P ) , J P E G , a n d P h o t o s h o p ( P S D ) . I t a l s o s u p p o r t s r e a d i n g a n d w r i t i n g
IPTC and XMP metadata to and from the graphic assets. For now you'll concentrate on
simply getting the assets into the catalog.

schedule for that scan. In very small environments where you don't have many assets,
you can use the same schedule for your scans. If you have more than one edit station, it is
recommended that you stagger the scheduling of your scans so that they overlap as infre-
quently as possible.
The first thing you are going to create is a new scan response.
