In-Depth Information
When you next check in the Final Cut Pro project to Final Cut Server, the additional
assets will be added to the Final Cut Pro asset as elements.
NOTE You can add local media to your Final Cut Pro project while it's checked out
using either Edit Proxies or primary representations. Any media that is added will be
uploaded to Final Cut Server and cataloged as assets when the Final Cut Pro project
file is checked in.
Adding New Content from a Non-Edit-in-Place Device
The key difference between adding media from edit-in-place devices and media that is
not on an edit-in-place device is that media from non-edit-in-place devices must first be
cached locally before it can be used.
The Leverage Local device you created earlier contains some media assets. You will add
a clip from it to your project.
1
In the client application, locate the Leverage Logo asset.
Note that the asset frame is a dark gray. This means that it needs to be cached locally
before it can be used. There are two ways to do this: either by dragging the asset over
an application (such as Final Cut Pro), or by Control-clicking (Mac) or right-clicking
(Windows) the asset and choosing Add to Cache from the shortcut menu.
2
In this case, drag the asset into the Final Cut Pro Browser. A dialog will appear.
Click Add to Cache.
