Tip
When you modify a style, the text, table, or objects to which the style is ap-
plied update automatically. If you have a specific instance of text, a table,
or an object that you do not want to update, you can break its link to the
style. Each styles panel (Paragraph Styles, Cell Styles, and so on) has a
Break Link To Style command in the panel menu.
Now you'll change the color of the drop shadow and update the object style. You
do not need to finalize design decisions before you create and apply styles because
styles are easy to update based on new formatting.
5. With the symbol still selected, choose Object > Effects > Drop Shadow.
6. In the Blending area, click the color swatch and then choose the pale yellow (C =
4, M= 15, Y= 48, K = 0), and click OK.
7. Click OK to close the Effects dialog box.
8. Choose Redefine Style from the Object Styles panel menu. This updates the style
to match the new formatting.
