Summary
The Wireless Application Protocol enables developers to distribute information to mobile
employees and consumers through a wide range of devices. The design of the protocol enables
it to change gracefully as networks and devices will mature in the coming years.
A variety of developer tools and emulators are available for download. We suggest that you
download several and evaluate them before beginning the next chapter, which will discuss
WAP's markup language (WML) and client-side scripting language (WMLScript).
