This problem can be fixed by using a Curve object to create a simple animated garbage matte. The solution
is a simple form of rotoscoping, which involves creating images by hand on a frame-by-frame or nearly frame-
by-frame basis. The AnimAll add on enables you to do this more easily than was possible in the past. However,
as I write this, powerful new tools for masking in the compositor are being developed. If you are working in
Blender version 2.64 or later, mattes for compositing should be made in the Movie Clip editor as described in
Chapter 10, “Advanced 3D/Video Compositing.”
To set up the animated garbage matte in Blender version 2.63 or previous, follow these steps:
1. To use the AnimAll add-on, you must first activate the add-on. You'll find it in the Addons panel of
the User Preferences window under the Animation add-ons, as shown in Figure 9-48 .
