Shopping with the iTunes Store App
Last but certainly not least, the iTunes Store app lets you use your iPad mini to download, buy, or
rent just about any song, album, movie, or TV show. And, if you're fortunate enough to have an
iTunes gift card or gift certificate in hand, you can redeem it directly from your iPad mini.
If you want to do any of that, however, you must first sign in to your iTunes Store account. Follow
these steps:
1.
Tap the Settings icon on the Home screen.
2.
Tap Store in the list of settings.
3.
Tap Sign In.
4.
Type your username and password.
Or, in the unlikely event that you don't have an iTunes Store account already, follow these steps:
1.
Tap the Settings icon on the Home screen.
2.
Tap Store in the list of settings.
3.
Tap Create New Account.
4.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
After the iTunes Store knows who you are (and, more importantly, knows your credit card or other
payment details), tap the iTunes Store icon on your Home screen (or the Store button in the Music
app) and shop until you drop. It works almost exactly the same as the iTunes App Store, which you
read about in Chapter
11
.
