Each of these indicates one second, and the entire timeline will be changed
to represent ten seconds. Dragging the blob will now allow precise movement
through the movie. Releasing the mouse button will return the timeline to
normal.

Additionally, when the movie is paused, tapping the Left/Right cursor keys
will advance the motion frame by frame. Pressing and holding either key will
play the movie in slow motion.

Turn a Website into an App

If you want to simply double-click an app icon to open a website on your
desktop, avoiding a full-blown browser, this tip is for you. Here are the steps
to turn a website into an app:

1. Start the Automator app. It's located in the Applications list in Finder.

2. In the document chooser that appears when Automator starts, double-

click the Application icon—its icon is a robot. If this doesn't appear, click
File→New.

3. In the list of actions beneath the Name search field, scroll down until you

find the Get Specified URLs entry. Double-click it to open it on the right
side of the window.

4. Under the new Get Specified URLs heading, double-click the Apple website

address and replace it with that of the site you want your new app to
visit, including the HTTP:// component. Hint: If you want to specify one of
Google's web apps, you might have to append /?BROWSEROK=TRUE to the end
of the URL. In other words, something like HTTP://DOCS.GOOGLE.COM will need to
read HTTP://DOCS.GOOGLE.COM/?BROWSEROK=TRUE . Appending the URL causes Google
to stop checking to ensure the browser is compatible, which can cause
problems.

5. Back in the list of actions under the Name search field, locate the Website

Popup entry. It'll probably be at the bottom of the list. Again, double-click
to add it to the right of the window.
