Color tools The color tools feature the foreground and background colors
themselves plus an icon to set the default colors (black/white) and the toggle for
switching foreground and background color.
Quick mask toggle Quick mask mode allows you select pixels by painting.
You'll learn how to do this in Chapter 7.
All but two of the tools in the toolbox (Move and Zoom) have additional tools
under them. The small black triangle in the lower-right corner indicates the
presence of additional tools. Let's explore the toolbox.
1. Hover the cursor over any tool for a few seconds to display a tooltip
that reveals its name.
2. Click and hold a tool for a couple of seconds to open its flyout menu
(or right-click it to immediately open it). Figure 2.11 shows a typical
flyout menu.

3. Observe that the keyboard shortcut (L in this case) is listed on the
flyout. All the tools on the same flyout share the same keyboard
shortcut. Hold Shift and press the shortcut key to cycle through all
the tools on the flyout, one at a time. For example, press L to select
the Lasso tool. Hold Shift and press L and the Polygonal Lasso tool
appears on top (ready for use).
4. Press Shift+L and the Magnetic Lasso tool is on top. Press Shift+L
and you cycle back to the Lasso tool.
