ables. This is a great reminder for you, but SPSS treats the label simply as
a string of letters that could have been anything; thus, just because you
labeled the value of 9 as missing does not in any manner actually instruct
SPSS to treat the value 9 as a missing value - that is why there is a variable
characteristic of Missing Values .
