For this exercise, you'll need:
• Jumper wires (Makershed.com part number MKSEEED3, Adafruit.com
part number 758, Sparkfun.com part number 08431)
• Breadboard (Makershed.com part number MKEL3, Adafruit.com part
number 64, Sparkfun.com part number 12002)
• An LED (Makershed.com part number MKEE7, Adafruit.com part num-
ber 299, Sparkfun.com part number 12062)
• A 330 ohm resistor (Assorted resistor packs: Makershed.com part num-
ber MKEE4, Sparkfun.com part number 10969)
Here's how to wire up the LED, step-by-step:
1. Using a jumper wire, connect one of the Galileo pins labeled GND into
one of the rows on your breadboard. (If you've never used a breadboard
before, review Appendix B .) There are a few pins labeled GND, and any
one of them will be fine. This is the LED's connection to ground .
2. Using another jumper wire, connect the Galileo pin labeled 13 to a dif-
ferent row on the breadboard as shown in Figure 3-3 .
