An overview of the
Projects pane
The Projects pane is the center of
all activity for the creation and
styling of photo projects and their
content. With no projects open,
both the Organizer and Editor ver-
sions of the module contain the list
of possible Elements photo projects.
With a project open the Editor ver-
sion contains four different tabbed
panes. They are Pages, Layouts,
Artwork and Text.
When a photo project is open in the Editor workspace, the Cre-
ate pane contains Pages, Layouts, and Artwork sections.
When switching to the Advanced Mode, other options become
available including the Layers panel.
The options change a little when
switching from the Basic Mode to
Advanced Mode in the Photo Book
workspace where the Text section
is swapped with Effects.
Let's look at each in turn.
Create > Pages
As we have already seen, the Pages
section of the Create panel contains
a series of thumbnails versions of
the different double page spreads
contained in your project. From
Photoshop Elements 9.0 this panel
takes the place of the Photo Bin that
was previously used to display the
various pages in a Photo Book.
At the very top is a single page,
called the Title page, used to start
the topic and with some templates
designed for online production, is
designed for being viewed through a
'cut-out' section of the front cover.
The pages section of the Create pane displays thumbnails of
the pages included in your Photo Book.
