Graphics Programs Reference
In-Depth Information
The pages are listed in order from first to last down the panel and depending on the number
of pages in the topic you may need to scroll down the panel to see each in turn. Alternatively
you can select a thumbnail (single-click) and then use the up and down arrow keys to move
between pages thumbnails in the panel. This won't alter the pages being displayed in the
workspace. To change this display, you will need to double click a thumbnail.
The top left of the Pages pane contains + and - buttons to add and remove pages to the topic.
At the bottom there are generally three action buttons:
Done - To finish editing the topic and close the file. If the topic hasn't been saved then click-
ing this button displays a Save dialog before closing the topic project.
Print - All book designs can be printed to a desktop printer so clicking this button will
prepare your book for printing. After that process has finished the Print dialog will be dis-
played.
Order - If you selected one of the templates designed for online production when you first
created the topic, you will also have a third button titled Order. Click this option to start
uploading your book to the selected provider.
Create > Layouts
The Layout panel was added in Elements 9.0. It
is here that you will find a variety of different
page layouts that you can add to your photo
book. Unlike the version of the Photo Book pro-
ject found in previous editions of Photoshop Ele-
ments, a range of random layout styles are used
by the program when first creating the pages
in the topic. If you want a little more control
over the number and positioning of the images
on the pages then you can substitute any of the
entries in the Layout pane for the page designs
in the topic.
The process is simple. First navigate to the page
you want to change. Next drag the thumbnail
from the Layout panel over the page to change.
Elements automatically switches the page de-
signs and adds the images that were already on
the page to the frames of the new design. If you
want the same layout option to be used for both
right and left pages then just double-click the
thumbnail entry in the panel and the design of
both pages will change.
The Layout pane displays thumbnails of dif-
ferent page compositions that you can ap-
ply to your book pages.
