Some menu items can also be selected using a combination of keyboard strokes called
shortcuts. The key combinations for these features are also listed next to the item in the
menu list. For example, the Free Transform can be selected using the menu selections Image
> Transform > Free Transform or with the key combination of Ctrl + T (the Control key and
the letter 'T') for Windows users or Cmd + T for Macintosh users.

Arrange document windows
Photoshop Elements 8 introduced a new
way to arrange the photos you have open
in the Editor space. Photos can be arranged
in a tabbed setup, as individual windows or
automatically sized and arranged to all be
displayed at the same time.
The Layout menu (above) contains a comprehensive list of
options for the display of open documents in the Editor work-
space. Other display choices for individual images are avail-
able on the View menu (below).
The Layout button sits on the Actions bar. It
was previously called Arrange Documents
and was located on the Menu Bar. When
pressed, the pop-up menu displays a range
of choices that determine the way that the
open documents in Elements are displayed.
There are a series of arrangement icons in
the menu. Selecting one of these will auto-
matically rearrange any open documents in
the manner indicated by the icon.
The entries in the View menu provide extra
display options that govern how individual
images are shown.
