level of enjoyments and experience, a new creating, growing and emerging
society sector. By the increased number of active senior citizens, there will be
a need for amusement and adventure specially directed towards the older age
related segments.
When the available activities increase, and people have proper tools to experience
adventure and advanced amusements, then a new industrial era of human needs
will appear. This era of new discoveries is expected to bring people into new di-
mensions of life, for example, exploring space, experiencing high mountains and
making excursions to the deep sea. Since we are not sure what kind of adventures
would actually be appealing in a futuristic scenario but for sure the predictions are
inviting and will indeed provide new perspectives in life.
The longing for complete, new experiences has roots in the human curiosity
for discovering new objects and qualities in nature. This curiosity depends to a
great extend the human need to excel and experience new sensations. We have a
desire to explore the world around us and if the earth is becoming too small then
we aim for the space.
This emerging area of technology-, social- and psychology-based skills with an
increased use of information is expected to be an expanding field of interest in the
coming decade. The possibility to increase human sensations is inspired and the
outcome will hopefully create a richer and more active life on an individual basis.
To conclude this section, the question concerns the importance of human per-
ception capability as a crucial part of the development of the world. Would peo-
ple, as the great philosophers assumed, that mankind can be and is able to manage
additional information from external sources, which are released as the nature of
modern technology unfolds? Further, would an increased power of perception
make it possible to come-up with better and well-reasoned decisions and direc-
tions for a structural development of the world? Would mankind with all its sor-
row and joy be able to use an increased perceptual based intelligence to identify
and realise unfavourable decisions?
I would, despite of the experience in history, relay the faith in a progressive
and constructive technology development, as an emerging era of mankind and
with a reasonable convincing argument state say a YES to the above questions.
The information concerning the example of the climate change was still in the
early stages of the industrial era and also at the time of increased situational aware-
ness already known. The Swedish researcher Svante Arrhenius received the Nobel
Prize in 1903, for his discovery of climate changes. Maybe the time for perceptual
awareness was not communicable into people's mind in the sense it is experienced
today.
The sensation of ongoing climate changes was at least recognised by
researchers. However, it is doubtful whether a person in a prominent position or
any person could have influenced the economy-driven technology society to an
extent, that the information would be taken seriously, even when the people could
not perceive the changes in the climate.
