For PCL scaffolds, heat treatment near the PCL melting temper-
ature (59 C) was conducted during the scaffold fabrication for fib-
ril bonding between adjacent PCL by slight melting, leading to the
prevention of the disentanglement of fibrous structures and to the
improvement ofmechanical strength ofthe scaffold.
As shown in Fig.30.8a, the mechanical property of the scaffold
increased by the heat treatment (i.e., fibril-bonding process). The
dimension or pore structure of the scaffold was little affected by the
