Your data source is saved to the Trusted Data Source library without clicking save or OK in the
Data Connections library in your BI Center site.
Click the Properties Tab and name the data source AdventureWorks .

On the Time tab (see Figure 8-21), in the Reference Member section, select a member from
the dimension that represents the first day of the year, such as January 1, 2011.

The Time tab is where you configure Time Intelligence before creating a filter that you can
use in reports and scorecards. It is worth reviewing to see whether you want to configure your
data to use Time Intelligence. For more information, see “Configure data sources to work with

The Time Dimension list box presents the hierarchies available in the cube, such as Date. Date.
Date.Calendar (Year, Week, Day).

In the Reference Date section, enter the same date in your regional format so that Performance
Point can understand how years are structured in the date dimension.

Navigate to the Business Intelligence Center and click Data Connections.

You should see the data connections file saved to the Trusted Data Source library, as illus-
trated in Figure 8-22.
