Start PerformancePoint dashboard designer
Before you install Dashboard Designer, you should make it available on a site the easy way, by creat-
ing a site collection using the BI template.
There are other methods for making PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer available in sites
without creating a BI Center site collection. For example, by going to PowerPivot Gallery library set-
tings, you can add a content type called PerformancePoint Data Source, as shown in Figure 8-12. For
detailed instructions on how to add a content type, in Chapter 3, read the section “Adding content
types to SharePoint 2013 library.”

After you add the content type, you will see a PerformancePoint tab as an option on the library's
ribbon (Figure 8-13).
