New filter search
You can now search filter members. With filter search, you can do the following:
Search within single and multiselect tree filters
Search Analysis Services/PowerPivot data sources
Search Member Selection, MDX Query, and Named Set filters
New BI Center
The BI Center site highlights dashboard components in a clear, simple design such as PowerPivot and
Excel Services.
dashboard designer on the ribbon
The appearance of the PerformancePoint ribbon tab is based on content type and appears in
document libraries where the Web Part Page content type is present. Clicking the Dashboard
Designer button launches the click-once application. The icon also appears in lists where any of the
PerformancePoint content types have been added. This is so you do not have to launch the designer
by navigating to the BI Center.
New for IT professionals
Several features have been developed to simplify administration of PerformancePoint Services.
The EffectiveUsername property
You are no longer required to set up Kerberos constrained delegation to use per-user authentica-
tion. Per-user authentication enabled on the application settings page adds the EffectiveUsername
property to the connection string which is then passed to SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). The
value of the property is the user name of the individual user. When SSAS receives the value, it returns
the results of the query.
Custom target applications from secure store
You now have the ability to specify any secure store target application when defining your data
source in dashboard designer. You can also use the target application that is auto-generated when
you provision the service. In other words, target applications used for Excel Services can also be used
for PerformancePoint. This option can be specified for the entire service.
Server-side migration
You can move any or all of your PerformancePoint content from one site or server to another site or
server. Enterprise customers can now migrate content, including data sources, between their develop-
ment, test, and production environments.
