Tip To display pie charts on your map instead of bubbles, add a field to the Color box to
categorize the Size value. For example, in the preceding chart, Power View determines the
size of the bubble by using the SalesAmount field. You can add the Style field to the Color
box to create a pie chart for each country that displays the breakdown of sales by style.
drilling to details
Rather than use multiples to focus on a particular sales territory group, you can use hierarchies in a
map and drill from sales territory group to country.
In the layout section of the map visualization, drag the SalesTerritoryGroup field to the
Locations box and drop it above the SalesTerritoryCountry field.
1.
In the map, double-click the bubble in Europe to drill to the country details, as shown in
Figure 5-28.
2.
FIGURE 5-28 You can double-click a bubble on a map to drill to another level of detail.
To return the map to its previous state, click the Drill Up button that appears above the upper-
right corner of the map, as shown in Figure 5-29.
3.
FIGURE 5-29 A Drill Up button displays in the upper-right corner of a map after you drill to a lower level
of a hierarchy.
Note The Drill Up button also appears in this location when you drill to detail in a chart.
