Finnhamn
This 900m-long island, northeast of Stockholm, combines lush woods and meadows with
sheltered coves, rocky cliffs and visiting eagle owls. It's a popular summertime spot, but
there are enough quiet corners to indulge your inner hermit.
There's a sauna (Skr100 per person per hour) near the beach that can be booked through
the hostel. You can also rent kayaks there. Walking trails cover most of the island, taking
in awesome panoramic views at various points. At the harbour there's a little shop (open
until 7pm) where you can pick up basic groceries and snacks.
