In-Depth Information
Head here for perfect crêpes in an intimate setting, plus a hint of shanty-town chic - think
reggae tunes and old tin billboards for Stella Artois. A good place for a quiet tête-à-tête be-
fore you hit the clubs down the street.

VEGETARIAN
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 08-643 94 80; www.hermans.se ; Fjällgatan 23A; buffet Skr175, desserts

This justifiably popular vegetarian buffet is one of the nicest places to dine in Stockholm,
with a glassed-in porch and outdoor seating on a terrace overlooking the city's glittering
skyline. Fill up on inventive, flavourful veggie and vegan creations served from a cozy,
vaulted room - you might need to muscle your way in, but it's worth the effort.
The desserts (sold separately) are mostly vegan, gluten-free, or both, and they look
amazing, though it's a challenge to save room. If you have a valid student ID, you may be
able to get a two-for-one deal on the buffet. Worth asking!
Pelikan SWEDISH
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 08-556 090 90; www.pelikan.se ; Blekingegatan 40; mains Skr172-285;
5pm-midnight or 1am; Skanstull)
Lofty ceilings, wood panelling and no-nonsense waiters in waistcoats set the scene for
classic husmanskost at this century-old beer hall. The herring options are particularly good
(try the 'SOS' plate, an assortment of pickled herring, Skr124 to Skr138) and there's usu-
ally a vegetarian special to boot. There's a hefty list of aquavit, too.
