Sitting among a string of three inviting cafes along this block, Chutney is one of Stock-
holm's many well-established vegetarian restaurants, offering excellent value and great at-
mosphere. The daily lunch special is usually a deliciously spiced, curry-esque heap of veg-
gies over rice, and includes salad, bread, coffee and a second helping if you can manage it.
Huddle on the pillowed benches indoors and sample the vaguely Middle Eastern- and
Asian-themed veggie delights, or just hang out with a beer and watch the Söder crowds fil-
ter by.

For a quick snack of freshly fried herring, seek out this humble cart outside the tunnelbana
station at Slussen. Large or small combo plates come with big slabs of the fish and a selec-
tion of sides and condiments, from mashed potato and red onion to salads and hardbread;
