6-2). After you click the icon, the heart turns red, and a note about your liking it
gets added automatically as a note to that post.
On your own blog, the like note says You liked this , but on everyone else's
blog, the note will say YOURNAME liked this with a mini-version of your profile
picture and a link back to your blog, as shown in Figure 6-5. That link is one of
Tumblr's many ways of encouraging people to explore, network, like, and reblog
each other's posts.

Liking from a blog: To like a post directly from another person's blog, click the
heart-shaped Like icon at the top of the page. If you don't see the Like icon, try
clicking the blog post or blog title first. Sometimes, depending on how the theme
is set up to display posts, you need to view the individual post by clicking it be-
fore you have access to the Like feature.
Unliking: You can unlike a liked post at any time by clicking the heart-shaped Like
icon, either from within your Dashboard or from within another person's blog. As
soon as the icon turns from red to gray, any note associated with your prior like
will be removed from the original post.
Reblogging Posts
If you really like a blog post by someone else, you might also want to reblog it simply by
displaying a copy of the blog post on your own blog.
