disappear too soon due to lack of funding. In this chapter, I've pulled together a list of
the ten best third-party apps currently available for Tumblr. I hope you enjoy them!
HelloTxt
There's no denying that social media accounts are hot right now. Chances are you cur-
rently have at least one other social media account besides your Tumblr blog. In fact,
most people will already have accounts with Facebook and Twitter before signing up for
Tumblr, and then quickly branch out to more social media sites like Pinterest, LinkedIn,
Dribble, Google Plus, WordPress, Flickr, Instagram, Last.fm, and a handful of others.
With all those accounts, one of the big questions on everyone's minds is, “How can I
manage all my posts across all my accounts so that if I update one, the rest will update
automatically?” The answer: HelloTxt.
HelloTxt is one of several new status-manager services; it helps you update your status
across all your social networks and microblogs from the privacy of your own computer,
tablet, e-mail, or mobile phone (see Figure 10-1). To sign up, visit www.hellotxt.com
and follow the onscreen instructions to create your account and start synchronizing
your posts.

Ping.fm
Ping.fm is another social media updating service you might be interested in using to in-
tegrate with your Tumblr account.
