WSMO entity. WSMO Studio supports ontologies, Web services, goals, and
mediators and allows the user to manage all subtypes of these entities.
WSMO Studio also offers a syntax-highlighting text editor for the WSML
human-readable syntax. This text editor allows more advanced users who are
more comfortable editing the WSML syntax to gain some advantage from the
tool set. Keywords in the WSML syntax; for example, “concept”, “instance”,
“subConceptOf”,etc. are highlighted in a color of the user's choice. Further-
more WSMO Studio provides access to a set of import and export functions
from and to WSML, a subset of OWL-DL, and an XML representation of
WSML. The most recent release (at the time of writing) includes a choreog-
raphy designer, as well as front ends for ontology/service/goal repositories,
including an integrated repository based on a triple store and an IRS-III
adapter (an execution environment describe in section 10.3.2).
10.2.7 DOME
The DERI Ontology Management Environment (DOME) 13 (Fig. 10.7) is a
tool suite for managing WSML documents developed by the Ontology Man-
agement Working Group. 14 DOME can be used for editing and browsing,
mapping and merging, and controlling the versioning and evolution of ontolo-
gies. Ontologies are displayed using a tree hierarchy, and all editing is done
via right-click menus on this tree hierarchy.

The editor which contains the tree hierarchy also contains a second tab for
editing the underlying human-readable WSML syntax of the visible ontology.
Any changes made in the text editor are immediately visible in the tree hier-
archy and vice versa. The interaction paradigm of this tool is based mainly
on the “drag-and-drop” methodology.
Other views provided allow the instances of a selected concept to be seen
and the nonfunctional properties of a given entity to be changed. The instance
