right). The design-time component displays two ontologies (source and target)
and provides, in the bottom pane, means to specify mappings between selected
entities. These mappings are stored in an execution environment, where they
can be used on demand if an actual transformation between heterogenous
ontologies is needed.
10.2.6 WSMO Studio
WSMO Studio (Fig. 10.6 is a collection of tools for editing WSMO descrip-
tions developed for the Eclipse framework by OntoText Labs 11 ,partofSirma.
WSMO Studio displays the entities contained the WSML document as a tree
hierarchy and allows the user to edit these entities via a collection of forms.
The approach taken in WSMO Studio is very similar to that taken in Protege 12
(an ontology-editing suite developed by Stanford University); however, instead
of providing a collection of tabs that can be used to edit different objects in
the ontology, a unique editor is available for each object type.

Editing a given entity in a WSML document is done by double-clicking
on the entity in the tree hierarchy. When the user does this, an editor is
opened specifically for this entity. The GUI widgets contained within the
editor are built dynamically upon the functionality supported by the given
