Historic Quarter
HISTORIC NEIGHBOURHOOD
The old part of town lies just to the north and west of the cathedral; the tourist-office bro-
chure outlines a map and important monuments and buildings. Sankt Mogens Gade has a
charming pocket of homes from the mid-16th century, including Den Hauchske Gård at
No 7, Villadsens Gård at No 9A, and Den Gamle Præstegård at No 11. B&Bs can also be

This local history museum tells the story of Viborg's rich religious past.
Margrethe I BOAT TRIPS

Jump onboard the Margrethe I for a one-hour cruise of the town lakes. There are addition-
al cruises from mid-June (at 3.15pm); the boat departs from outside Golf Salonen on
Randersvej. The surrounding park is lovely; from mid-May to September you can rent ca-
noes and rowboats from the park kiosk for lake exploration.

This well-run place feels like a country escape, 3km from town in green surrounds and
backed by botanic gardens down to the lakeshore. Rooms are top-notch, too (most with
bathrooms). Note that the town's camping ground is next door. No bus services.
