Getting There & Away
Svendborg is the transit point between Odense and the South Funen Archipelago. It's
44km southeast of Odense on Rte 9.
BOAT
Ærøfærgerne ( GOOGLE MAP ; 62 52 40 00; www.aeroe-ferry.com ) runs up to 12 ferries a
day between Svendborg and Ærøskøbing (on Ærø); the crossing takes 75 minutes, and a
one-way ticket costs Dkr130/82 for an adult/child. Transporting a car/bike one way costs
Dkr280/27. Drivers should book their car passage in advance, especially in high summer.
The M/S Helge sails between Svendborg and Tåsinge.
BUS & TRAIN
The bus and train stations are north of the Ærø ferry terminal, on Toldboldvej.
There are frequent bus services between Svendborg and Faaborg (bus 931, Dkr51, 55
minutes). Trains leave Odense for Svendborg twice an hour (Dkr78, 40 minutes).

Jernbanegade 10; 9am-1pm Jun-Aug, shorter hrs rest of yr) has bikes for rent (per day Dkr90)

The Svendborg tourist office has maps and brochures that outline scenic bike paths
around the area.
Tåsinge

The island of Tåsinge is connected to Svendborg and Langeland by road bridges. Its main
sights are in the northeast: the pretty sea-captain's village of Troense and palatial 17th-cen-
tury Valdemars Slot. The rest of the island is a mixture of woods, hedges and open fields,
cut through by the main road, Rte 9.
