Odense looks all grown up at this scene-y hotspot, with a NYC-inspired, industrial-chic in-
terior and a menu of burgers and fine cuts of beef (pimp your steak with fois gras or lang-
oustine). Long hours are kept: lunch is served until 4pm, and a late-night kitchen opens
until midnight Thursday to Sunday (to feed the cocktail-supping crowd).

The romantic Gamle Kro spreads through several half-timbered 17th-century houses, with
a glass-roofed courtyard and medieval cellar. Lunch options include classic smørrebrød,
while dinner is a decadent French affair: terrine of fois gras, duck breast with truffle sauce,
plaice meunière, tournedos rossini. Seasonal set menus represent the best value (two/three
courses Dkr298/385).

Goma is straight from an interiors magazine, all blond wood, cool lighting and interesting
chairs. At ground level there's a bar serving snacks and cocktails (house speciality: gin);
downstairs is a restaurant putting an inventive, California-style spin on Japanese cuisine.
The 16-piece sushi plate is a thing of beauty; alternatively, the kitchen has set menus from
Dkr300 to Dkr500 per person.
Self-Catering
The train station contains a small grocery store that opens until 10pm, and a reasonable
bakery. Bazar Fyn is great for groceries and cheap grub.
