CPH:Dox is an acclaimed international documentary film festival, and the largest of its
kind in Scandinavia. Its diverse programme takes to cinemas across the city. The festival
takes place over 11 days from early to mid-November.

From mid-November to early January, Tivoli gets into the Christmas spirit with a large Yu-
letide market, costumed staff and theatre shows. Fewer rides are operational but the mulled
wine and
æbleskiver
(small doughnuts) are ample compensation.

Copenhagen's accommodation options span everything from the floating chic of CPH Liv-
ing, to the classic Danish design aesthetics of the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel. The city's
design legacy is not limited to higher-end establishments, with both WakeUp Copenhagen
and Generator Hostel injecting style and sass into the city's more budget-conscious offer-
ings.
With both WakeUp Copenhagen and Generator Hostel being exceptions, most of the
city's main budget hotels are centred on the western side of the Central Station, around
Vesterbrogade and the fruitier parts of Istedgade. Ironically, what was once a relatively
downtrodden part of town is now home to one of its trendiest districts, Kødbyen, now
filling up with some of Copenhagen's hottest eateries and bars.
The hotel rates quoted in listings here include service charge and value-added tax
(VAT). It's a good idea to book in advance - rooms in many of the most popular midrange
hotels fill quickly, particularly during the convention season (typically from August to
October) when prices increase significantly, too. At other times, prices for rooms fluctuate
greatly, depending on the time of year or even the time of week, with most hotels tempting
guests with special offers throughout the year. Copenhagen's hostels often fill early in
