Surface Styles
Along with lighting, scene, and render styles, Inventor offers surface styles.
Surface styles typically carry the same name as a color that you can select for
your part from the Inventor Standard toolbar list. The difference is that you can
modify the surface style to carry additional information and properties that con-
trol how the surface appears in the rendering. You can give a surface different
refl ection levels, change its opacity, apply a different texture, and even use a bump
map to make the rendered version of the part appear to have an uneven surface
texture.
In this introduction to Inventor Studio, we won't explore the full capabilities
of surface styles. But one brief exercise will, I hope, pique your interest in learn-
ing more about them.
