The Draft Tab
When parts need to be extracted from a mold, having a taper applied to the faces
makes it easier to get the parts out. You set the angle of the draft on this tab.
You can also pick the Parting Element check box to set a plane or face to estab-
lish where the draft begins.
This is one of the most complex tools in Inventor, but the dialog makes it easy
to use and understand what input is needed.
On all but one of the tabs, you need to select geometry to defi ne an element of the
grill. Let's set up the sketches that are needed to make the grill component a grill.
Editing the Sketch
In this exercise, you'll build the pattern of lines needed to place ribs in your part:
1. Open the Grill.ipt fi le that you downloaded to the Parts folder.
2. Double-click Sketch2 in the Browser to begin editing the sketch.
