15. While the feature is highlighted, use the pull-down menu in the
Quick Access Toolbar to set the color of the feature to Black by
extending the list and picking the color. See Figure 7.36.
FIGURE 7.36 With a feature highlighted, you can override its color.
16. Save your work, and close the pulley.
17. With Part Selection Priority still active, pick the pulley. Use the Rotate
tool to turn the pulley over so the word ROTATION is at the top.
18. Update the assembly, and the pulley will be re-constrained.
19. Make sure the pulley is up to date in the assembly, and save that fi le
as well.
When editing the pulley, you may have noticed that the hub doesn't have a
hole in it. As I mentioned before, the V-Belts Component Generator produces
the pulleys as blanks. You've modifi ed your large pulley with some additional
features, but you'll use another design accelerator to prepare it for the shaft.
Parallel Key Connection Generator
This tool has a lot of similarities to the others, but it's more interactive when
you're selecting what key will be used when you select the geometry to place it
on. This is reasonable because keys are commonly sized based on the shafts that
they're placed in.
