3. After the preview updates, move your cursor so the edge of the hole is
highlighted again. Click to begin placing the bolt into the hole.
Selecting the placement hole starts the AutoDrop dialog. It con-
tains some interesting options, so let's quickly review them:
Follow Pattern If Inventor detects a pattern of holes, you can use
the Insert Multiple option to add more than one fastener at a time.
Insert Multiple When Inventor detects more than one hole of the
same size on the same plane as the selected hole, you can use this
option to apply fasteners to all the holes at once.
Change Size Selecting this option brings up the selection dialog
where you can choose another bolt size or length.
Bolted Connection This launches the Bolted Connection design
accelerator. The icon is the same as that found on the Design and
Assemble tabs.
Apply Just like any Apply button, this executes the command and
keeps the dialog open so you can keep working.
Place This works like an OK button, applying the fastener and clos-
ing the tool when finished.
4. Pick the Bolted Connection button. Doing so launches the Bolted
Connection Component Generator dialog, shown in Figure 5.25.
