8. Dimension the width of the larger rectangle to 1in. and the width of
the small rectangle to 6.5in.
9. Dimension the height of the large rectangle to 35.8in. and the height
of the small rectangle to 6in., as shown in Figure 5.3.
FIGURE 5.3 Add dimensions to the sketch.
10. Create a Vertical constraint between the sketch origin and the coinci-
dent midpoints of the two rectangles. Press the Esc key when you're
fi nished.
11. Pick a portion of the sketch, and drag the rectangles from side to
side. Leave the sketch outside the wireframe of the assembly.
12. Finish the sketch, and save the new component.
13. Extrude the two rectangles a distance of 6in. using the mid-plane.
See Figure 5.4.
14. Use the color list on the Quick Access Toolbar to set the color of the
component to Water.
15. Click the Return tool on the Ribbon to return to the assembly.
16. In the assembly, start the Constrain tool. Using a Mate constraint
with a Flush solution, pick the large face on the frame envelope com-
ponent and then pick the outer face of the housing, as shown in
Figure 5.5. Set the Offset value to 3in.
