Havly Hotel HOTEL
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.havly-hotell.no ; Valberggata 1; s/d Nkr1030/1390; )
This smaller business place occupies a great spot in a central but quiet street. The building
is unusually high-60s in style, though rooms are decorated in standard clubby, midrange
business manner. Staff are friendly and there's a set high-summer discount rate from June
to August.
Skagen Brygge Hotel HOTEL
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ;

This large, waterfront Clarion Collection flagship is quietly luxurious and rooms at the
front have the best views in town (unusually, this includes some single rooms). There's a
gym, free afternoon waffles and the waterfront lounge is delightful. Prices halve come the
weekend.
Myhregaarden Hotel BOUTIQUE HOTEL
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ;

)
The Myhregaarden sits in a completely refurbished early-20th-century building and retains
some original features. The contemporary refit, however, is dominant: the large rooms are
business-luxe in style with lots of black and purple. All but five rooms have fireplaces, and
those without have original wooden beams.
There's no real lobby or facilities but it's right in the thick of city shopping, eating and
bar-hopping.
Eating
Stavanger has a large choice of restaurants, including some tasty Thai and Indian, but also
what we suspect is the most expensive eating-out scene in Norway.
